Here are a few of my scrap projects from June and July for Scrappy Jo's.

You double crossing x...

"You double crossing x good for nothin' boat." Kyler has been on a new kick this week. Everything was a "double crossing x good for nothin'. Including our lemon of a boat. We tried to get out on the lake on Sunday but the boat had issues. Sure they were issues that could have been caught a head of the 45 minute drive but that boat has been nothing but issues.

It was a beautiful day we got out on the lake almost complete a full lap but then the issue boat well did its thing. I took that to mean that it was time to eat lunch on the boat. So we did. Then we flagged someone down to tow us back.

I still had a good time.

Shower me baby

This is my friend. And my neighbor. And my coworker. This is Darci.We had her baby shower tonight. Lots of fun and good laughs. I have been very fortunate to have really great girlfriends. They make me LAUGH. Oh man do they make me laugh. And especially these 3 Darci, Sabrina and Jamie. Darci came into my life at a really awkward time. My mom was really progressing down the cancer road and I was really all over as a person up and down up and down. Never once did she treat me differently or complain that I was a mess. She could have thought "man this girl is a lot of work." And moved on but she stuck by me.











Then there's this one. Jamie. She is a crack up! She, I would call in the middle of the night to help me hide a body. I knew moments after meeting her that I liked her and she would always, always be my friend. She's always got my back and I've got hers.




Lastly this is Sabrina. She is the oldest out of our playgroup. The mature one. Hehe I can hardly get that out with out laughing. I forget that she has two teenage kids and graduate from high school when we were in grade school. She is just one cool momma and I am so happy to have been able to call her my friend.

Cupcake Challenge

I saw this Cupcake Challenge on a scrapping blog the other day. I thought I would try something out for it. so here is my entry made with Summer Soiree paper purchased from Scrappy Jo's of course. Tell me what you think of it.

Luminary

We finally had the luminary ceremony tonight that was rained out a couple of weekends ago. Very touching to me. Dan came down for an hour but when Kyler was tired of the walking and reading of names they went home. I walked the whole time and tried to look at each and every bag along the way. Its really beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time to see all those bags around the track knowing all the life's that cancer touches.

This is my mom's bag in the middle with the scallop edges. I was covered in butterflies and the handwritten part I stole from The Fray.

Dear ol' Dad

Hope every one's Father's Day was a nice one. Dan got new shoes from me and Kyler bought him a Star Wars Model that he and Dan put together. That evening I invited my dad over for some cow :) Mashed Potatoes and Corn on the cob. Yummy!

Kyler stayed the night over at Jay's house so this morning I spent some quality time with a rag and cleaner. I got our room and bathroom spic and span the upstairs hall and Kyler's bathroom done. Now I am slacking for a bit before I fix dinner. Sloppy Joe's.

Wildlife Images

We went to Wildlife Images today with Maci and Leisa. Wildlife Images not to be confused with Wildlife Safari. Is just down the road from our house it is a rehabilitation center for hurt or people imprinted wild animals.

Lots of neat animals to see pretty up close and personal.

Can't write much now Dan is working on Scrappy room and I wanna get up there and help.

Relay for Life

Well I would have liked to have posted a picture of my mom's pretty Luminaria that I made for tonight but... we are having massive thunderstorms and the Relay event was officially canceled for the night. I left about a hour before to come back recoup after the 2nd torrential downpour.

The day started of hot and to tell the truth the first start of the rain was a welcome relief. Our team SWAC raised over 2000 dollars total. Which is pretty darn good in the scheme of things. So maybe next year you will see picture of a pretty Luminaria in honor of mom.

Trekkies

I took Jay out for a hot date last night. We went to see Star Trek. Let me preface this by saying that I am not a fan of Start Trek but Jay LOVES it. I was interested in seeing the movie based upon the preview and the fact that JJ Abrams was involved. I love two of JJ Abrams shows. Lost and Fringe. I loved Star Trek! It had great action, acting, and was funny to boot! It rocked! Jay liked it as well but being a true fan found some inaccuracies. Cause he knows all the Star trek lore. Oh and for you ladies Kirk is pretty hot too!

Oh Brother!

I know I know! I haven't been blogging. Sometimes its hard to think up what to say. Believe it or not I am just not all that exciting. The picture is Kyler doing his Oh Brother! face. He says that a lot these days along with Forget about it! We are not all that sure where he picked up these new sayings but they are part of our everyday life these days.

Dan and I spent sometime working on La Scrappy Room. It makes me so happy to make any kind of progress in there. I will be overjoyed when it is done and I can move in. I helped Darci set up some of her scrapbooking organizers she got for her birthday on Sunday. So look forward to being able to set up my space.

This weekend is Relay for Life. I'll be there most of Sat. and sometime on Sunday. Its my first time there and I hope that my mom would be happy that I am going. Dan is gonna come down and walk with me for at least and hour.

Welp! I am highly considering going upstairs to scrap a bit. If I am going to I better get amove on while I still can.

Kyler's UnGraduation

I am not sure what to call it since he has another year of Preschool but here are pictures from Kyler's Preschool Graduation/Party. Dan took these for me since I was in Washington DC at the time.

Jay, My dad and Dan went to be the Kyler Support. In September Kyler will start at a new preschool. This summer we really need to work on his writing skills. I started today by having him do some dot to dots. He really likes those.

Recovery

I am home. Have been since Sunday but I have been so tired and had things to do when I got back. My plane got in a little early about 12:20 pm. I had very little sleep and did sleep some on the plane but not much. Got home and rested and of course told Dan about my trip. I drank a lot of tea in hopes of keeping myself up late enough to try and get back on Pacific time.

Then yesterday I did laundry, caught up on emails, went grocery shopping etc. I am glad to be home. And was very happy to see Dan and Kyler. Kyler has been a more mischievous the last day and half. Dan thinks he is punishing me for being gone.

Well I am starving off to eat some of the newly purchased food.
