Here are some om friends that hang out in my yard. The one in the front is a newer addition. They are so used to us they rarely dart off. Unless that is that I am trying to take their picture then they are sure to run.

Toe to Toe

Toe is healing up nicely. I have some newer bruising under the 2 and 3rd toes but overall doing well. I am not feeling much pain in it at all. Still walking a little funny. Should be all healed before NYC though. I am planning on starting to wash and pack for NYC this weekend. I also wanna get the house nice and clean so it won't be totally trashed when I get home. I figure if I start this weekend I won't have to rush myself.
Dan got home from Seattle Thursday night. I think he missed me because yesterday he called and asked me to go to lunch with him. It was sweet.
We are also thinking of cleaning the pool this weekend if it gets warm enough. Well I better get a move on while I am feeling so ambitious.

That look

My child took this picture yesterday. I wouldn't say that it my most favorite picture of me ever but I kinda like it none the less cause its just so me. My toe is doing well I am still walking funny on it but the swelling has gone down now it just a nice shade of purple. I should take a picture but I am feeling lazy right now.
Dan is out of town in Seattle so the last few days it just been me and the boy. We have been doing well. Tonight we are watching Myth Busters without daddy which is out of our norm. That's out show that we watch as a family.
Today I got my New York Pass in the mail. Still haven't figured out if we are going to DC or not. I am pretty sure we are just not sure if it will be for the day or two. I am getting pretty excited though :)

OWwww
And the week started off so well...
This week has turned into a rotten one. On Tuesday night I woke up with what felt like a stomach flu or food poisoning. So kind of short lived stomach bug. Felt better but then on Thursday night had a sore throat and what turned out to be a cold. And THEN! Today I am feeling better from my cold and walking down stairs and fell one leg went forward and one went behind me. Like I was doing the splits on the stairs. And now my big toe is swollen and throbbing. I don't think that I broke it but I pulled or sprained something in there.

Sorry that my toes are ugly to began with but if you can looks past that... I know its hard but keep trying... You'll see that the toe on the right it bigger and bruising. And it hurts too! Luckily for me tomorrow is Mother's day so my husband has been waiting on me hand and foot.

Its Happening!!
This little piggie...
Greetings! We had a truly great weekend this weekend. On Saturday Dan took the boat out with Joe and low and behold it works! Yeah! I now have to take back all oh the mean things I said about that boat. Man!ON Saturday Kyler and I went to a birthday party at Abby's ate way too much! The that evening our whole family went over to the Nichols for dinner and the ladies got to scrap. Jamie came over too! I got 3 or 4 pages done and a lot more chatting.
Then today we went with Jay out to lunch and then to the movies to see X-Men Origins. The movie was fun. I have like the X-Men movies but I really liked the animated series when I was young.
And to top of my weekend I won the Flower contest from Marks paper company! Isn't that cool!!
http://smarksthespot.typepad.com/markspapercompany/2009/04/the-winner-is.html
Which means I get lots more of this fun paper to play with :)
Oh and here are a few more picture of Kyler for our most recent photo shoot.

A boy and his pirate pup...
I have been itching to use the camera lately. And I have. Last weekend I took Kyler to town and took some pictures out by the brick and fun places downtown. I need to post those some time. But this is my favorite of the moment. The pup's name is X like x marks the spot. Get it? Kyler thought that up himself. Anyway X is Kyler's favorite stuffed animal and I found the two of them sleeping like this on the couch.Thursday, April 16, 2009

My kid and some friends
We had the mom's group over yesterday. I normally don't take pictures anymore since we have been together a long time. But here are two of Kyler with his friends. The first one is Kyler, Stephanie and Jordyn. The second is Kyler with Sam. I'd like to point out that in both pictures Kyler is holding Lego's. Its turning into an obsession like the color yellow.

On a Mary note, I am very excited to be possibly traveling to New York City to see my friend Pia. Pia and I have been pen pals since around 1998. She cam for a visit here to Grants Pass in 2005. This is us at the Oregon Caves.
We are still trying to figure out the details but I am hoping to go in the middle of May.

A favorite
Kyler and I really like these Dino Magic Eggs. My mom first bought them for him like 2 years ago. I bought him the volcano at Ross for his birthday. Today we decided to get one from Fred Meyers. They are basically bath fizzes with dinosaur parts in them. Each egg has a different Dinosaur in it. And you don't know what you end up with until it completely dissolves.
We lucked out and ended up with one of the Rare Dino's. That glows in the dark.

Holy Cow

So awhile back a friend at work asked me if I wanted to split a cow with her. Yes a dead cow. I decided to ask Jay to split my half with him. So I bought a quarter of a dead cow. Here is my quarter of dead cow all loaded in my freezer. I got a little giddy putting it all in there. Just something about knowing you have enough food to survive on for months. And we had some tonight and its yummmmmy dead cow too.

BORinnnng

Kyler keeps telling me that our house is boring. So today after work we found a craft in his National Geographic magazine to do. We made this Caterpillar from and egg carton.
I cut out the egg carton parts and Kyler painted most of the body. He did the antenna's or ears as he calls them and glued on the eyes.
I don't know if our house is still boring or not but we had fun for the time being. Its really warm here today I was sweatin' outside. The weather has been beautiful though.
We spent most of the weekend working again on the scrapbooking room. We have all of thewall insulation done. Dan finished hooking up the heating and cooling. The next time we work on it. We will be starting the ceiling insulation which might be a real pain.

I blew out my flip-flop...
Well not really. But I always liked that line from Margaritaville. Kyler and I bought new flip flops in hope that maybe the sun would shine.
Kyler's are stinkin' cute. Mine are cute but not nearly as cute as his.
We spent yesterday and part of today with Mike, Leisa, Alex and Maci. We went to lunch and to Mini Golf yesterday. I got two holes in one! And of course we decided not keep score.
Today Leisa helped me pack up the scrap stuff in the big scrapbook room. Dan has been working on it lately. We went and bought insulation last weekend and have been slowly starting the process for installing it.
Well I just wanted share the cutest flip flops. I am off to go help Dan some more.

Faces of Kyler
When I first started dating Dan, I used to hang out a lot with his then housemate Rico. Rico had so well odd interests. One of those was the video Faces of Death. The movie shows a variety of ways to die and acts of violence. I at the time thought I wanted to be and EMT so thought that would be a good test for whether I had the stomach for the job. I didn't! Anyway the following pictures have nothing to do with Faces of Death but I ripped off the name so I thought I should atleast give it some credit.
The other day Kyler would not corporate for the camera so I give him some emotions to work with.

CKC
Here is my CKC wrap up.On Thursday we picked up our tickets and went out to a really fancy dinner. My brother gave me, his wife and Darci his 100 dollar gift card for The Ringside Steak House in Portland. They had Valet parking there free of charge ,held the umbrella for us when we got out of the car. That's pretty fancy stuff to me. Leisa and Darci had steak, I had Prime Rib and for dinner we shared a Creme Brulee. Super Yummy! Darci says that its the best steak she has ever had.
On Friday, we all had the same Basic Grey Class. We did 4 LO's I liked it it was all using the newer papers but not the newest. The teacher was named Shelby and she was pretty entertaining. She had us leave the mats and title off our LO's so that we could use them for whatever we wanted in the future. I really liked how she taught the class.
Then Darci and I took 1 stamp 8 techniques. We didn't like this as much. They LO's are really cute but it wasn't really anything we didn't know all ready. And we didn't have enough time to finish the first LO. Let alone the next and the card.
After that we shopped for awhile. We managed to get in a hour in the morning before our first class. I spent mine a at the Dollar Scrapbooking. They had great stuff for a dollar.I spent 35 dollars there in less than a half an hour. It rocked! Lots and lots of chipboard letters for a $1.50 a piece.
Next, Darci and I had a Scenic Route boy class. Taught by Sarah Moline. We really liked this one. We made 6 really simple but cute LO's. Sarah's tip that both Darci and I liked is that she uses mostly black mats that she pre-cuts to 4x6, She can get 6 4x6 mats out of one sheet of cardstock and then she just trims the picture to fit the mat.
After this we had the crop. Which was great they gave us a good amount of stuff. Canon gave us a pack of photo paper and a Picture Me at One book. The only thing for me was that I was exhausted by this time and didn't get much done at all. I did win a scrap book basket from Transparent Touches.
The next day we had one more class. Scenic Route again. Really showed you how to use the scrap strip papers. Same teacher and it was a good value.
We shopped so more. I bought a clip it up. I am really excited about it. I had been thinking about it for a while. I got tons of embellishment from that dollar booth paper of course.
Oh and I forgot to mention that they have a Skinny cow booth. FREE. We had 3 or 4 those. Dan was super jealous of that part. He loves skinny cows.

Rachelle's Wedding
We spent a bit of time on the rode this last weekend driving to Merced, Ca. I have a group of from my family down there my sister and two of her kids. Rachelle is my oldest niece. She got married to Ben on Saturday the 21st. They are expecting in July. Rachelle kept telling me that it wasn't going to be that special of a day but it really was. They got married at a small chapel and then had their reception at the restaurant that Ben works at. Kyler was their ring bearer. I made the Bouquet and Boutonnieres. and of course took pictures about 250 to be exact. I am still processing a bunch of them. So here are 4. I may post more later.

I was tagged
I got tagged....My friend Pia tagged me for this challenge. You're supposed to open your pics folder, choose the 6th folder and the 6th pic in it. Publish it on your blog, write about it and challenge six friends.
This picture was taken August of 2005. Dan Kyler, Maci, Alex, Danielle, her then boyfriend and myself walked around down town and looked at all the Bears for BearFest. Bearfest is one of Grants Pass' outdoor events. Local artists decorate large bears. Each year they are auctioned of to raise money for a local groups and charitiees. This is one of the bears from 2005.
I am going to be a spoil sport and not challenge anyone else cause I don't know that many people with blogs.
